Life on Purpose, Not on Autopilot

Life on purpose and with purpose.
Life on purpose and with purpose.

Life on purpose and with purpose is a prerequisite of success.

Yet most people still live like humanoids — conforming, following rules, chasing stability, avoiding risk. Don’t question. Just do what you’ve been told. Be like everyone else, or better than everyone else.

But has anyone ever told you to be the best version of yourself? Did they ever explain what success really means?

Success ≠ Stuff

When I talk about success, I’m not talking about fame, fancy homes, designer clothes, cars, or luxury holidays.

Having those “things” is not a sign of success or happiness. It's a sign of material abundance and status.

And hey — there's nothing wrong with wanting or having nice things. They’re great for a quick dopamine hit. But that’s not success, despite what the world may try to tell you.

Let’s be clear on that.

So What Is Success?

Success is the ability to grow beyond your imagination. To live a purposeful, fulfilling life where everyone around you is winning too.

But that’s just my opinion.

I bet you look up to someone who seems to have it all — your idol, your hero, your “ultimate success story.” I bet you’ve wished for their life and the things that come with it.

Funny thing is, there are people in my life who say they look up to me. Honestly, that embarrasses me. I don’t want admiration. I don’t want envy. I want to be helpful.

Because envy is a real bad bitch.

She’ll trap you in a maze and chew you up like Pac-Man.

No matter how fast or smart you are — you’ll never feel good enough.

Never rich enough, never successful enough, never beautiful enough.

Because the goalposts keep moving.

So Let Me Ask You…

How are YOU today?

How’s your health?

Do you love what you do?

Is anyone making you laugh?

Are you winning?

Are you growing?

Are you making mistakes?

Are you learning?

What do you want to achieve in this short life?

Are you competing with others — or with yourself?

When was the last time you said well done to yourself?

When was the last time you squealed with joy over a milestone?

When was the last time you felt genuinely happy in your own skin?

Is This Really the Life You Want?

You wake up, go to work, eat, raise your kids, maybe have a BBQ on the weekend, share a bottle of wine, see friends, watch TV, read a book, take a vacation (if you're lucky), maybe go to the gym, coach a team, and sleep.

That’s life. That’s what we all do, right?

But to me — it’s not just what I do. It's what I choose to do.

We all have a choice.

But so many people feel the weight of invisible handcuffs.

If you woke up this morning dreading your day — ask yourself:

  • What are you doing today to make tomorrow better?

  • What are you doing to escape the rat race?

  • What are you doing to build a happier version of yourself?

  • What are you doing to find your purpose?

Three Types of People

In life, I see three types of people:

  1. Genuinely struggling

  2. Genuinely trying

  3. Genuinely greedy

You can never be all three.

If you’re struggling — you can keep struggling or you can try.

If you’re trying — you can give up, keep going, or become a monster.

If you’re greedy — you can help, share, or go to hell.

It’s that simple.

My Purpose? It’s This.

To be surrounded by happy humans.

To be the best mom I can be.

To be the best wife I can be.

To learn.

To build.

To achieve.

To feed my soul with curiosity and excitement for what’s ahead.

I can’t change the world.

I can’t fight someone else’s war.

I can’t make everyone like me.

And I sure as hell can’t tell you what to do.

But I can choose to be successful — as successful as I want to be.

And I hope you’ll make that choice too.

Today.
